Maeva in Montreal

Happy family.
J kinda fell in love with FlowRiding on our cruise. He spent hours on the wave so when I found out that Maeva in Montreal has a FlowRider, I knew we had to check it out! I booked us a weekend in Montreal to surprise J for Father's Day - we explored Biodome, the Botanical Gardens and the Insectarium on the Saturday and hit up Maeva on Sunday morning.

Maeva Surf.
Maeva Surf is outside of Montreal and one of two locations in Quebec with a FlowRider. It's a cute little shop that serves food and drinks and sells clothing. They have a huge wave on the wall which was perfect for pictures.

After our introduction - an in-class lesson of sorts (the video was only in French so we had the English run down) - we got to explore the wave before the water was turned on. The kids hadn't been in a FlowRider so I think this helped a bit with their nerves.

Having fun on the wave.

Handstands, of course.
They had the wave split into 2 and we had 6 people in our group. We all started with the body board. The kids did AMAZING! Neither of them likes getting water in their eyes so I wasn't sure how'd they do, but they were great. And the instructor was really good with them.

And up on her knees!
We all got comfortable enough to go out on our own and I managed some tricks. I also managed to flash everyone a couple of times.

J quickly moved to the flow board but I think was a little frustrated with the lack of space. The entire wave was bigger than on the cruise, but because it was split in two it wasn't as wide.

We all ended up with some bumps and bruises but left Montreal and Maeva with smiles on our faces.
