We all have our things, right? The things we do every day, or at least regularly. Maybe it's a big coffee to start the day, or catching up on your favourite show every week (or bingeing an entire season on Netflix), ordering pizza on Friday nights, whatever. I'm trying to be more conscious of my things. What do I do all the time? What makes me happy?
I am a creature of habit. I like things a certain way, but I can put up with the chaos that comes with living with other people, including two messy kids, for a while. And then all of a sudden I can't anymore.
I drink my tea in the morning, get the kids fed and to the bus, and then I go about my day. Some days I have to work with clients, some days I'm free to do what I please. On those days, I tend to spend some time on my laptop getting posts scheduled on Facebook and answering emails. Then it's really just what needs doing - Costco, groceries, errands, cleaning.
Notice I didn't mention exercise.
My evenings after the kids go to bed include watching tv and reading. And when I have to go out and I don't get to watch tv, I feel weird. When I'm reading a non-fiction book and can't get lost in a story, I feel weird. Is anyone else like this?
Lately I've been doing a lot of puzzles and so I've been doing a lot less of everything else. If you read my blog you know that I've been writing less. So I'm challenging myself to write more. Because when I don't write, I feel weird. Maybe I'm just weird.
Do you have a routine? Do you have things that you HAVE to do every day?
