Well, hello there. It's November and I had great intentions of blogging every day like I have in past years but that hasn't happened. It's been a tricky couple of weeks with a lot going on and I've been just getting by.
It was Maya Angelou who said "My mission in life is not merely to survive but to thrive, and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." I was definitely in survival mode, but I'm ready to start thriving again!
Survival mode happened after the stress of having the floors done (I will admit that the chaos of that got to me), getting sick, hurting my back, and being on call. My back got so bad that the doctor said I was having an acute flair up and prescribed a pain killer and a muscle relaxant. The muscle relaxant would completely knock me out so I spent a few days falling asleep at random times of the day.
My back is a lot better now and the last birth I went to I wore better shoes and noticed a difference. I'm still on call and potentially have another labour soon, and my weekend is full with a business course I'm taking.
There's nothing like being on call to light a fire under my butt and get me moving. This week I got a lot accomplished and that always feels good. I was able to get a red light ticket reduced, J and I got Little K's other bunk built and got her a new mattress and comforter (Sandy the cat is quite happy with the new bed), and got the house cleaned up. I still have a few things to do, but I'm feeling much better.
I just found my writing mojo so I'm going to get going on a few other posts that have been circling my mind but never making it out. I want to tell you about Halloween and the books I've been reading, but first, what have you been reading? How was your Halloween?
