|Arriving at the party.|
This weekend we went to a dear friend's little guy's 2 year old birthday party. It was school bus-themed and I swear my friend should make party planning her job. She's all over the decorations, the cake, the fun. She even had a school bus come to take us all on a little trip through the neighbourhood. We parked at the school so the kids could all look under the hood and sit in the driver's seat.

My only complaint about kids birthday parties is that they get a little crazy. It's a lot of noise and talking and being social for this introvert, but the kids and I had a great time and I was good to go after taking a little-longer-than-usual shower to regroup.
The loot bags were a big bouncy ball and a few suckers. The kids happily prolonged their sugar high and bounced around in the backyard with the balls.
Not long after we met up with some new friends at the park - they have a son a year younger than Little J and a daughter a year younger than Little K. And then I find out the mom and I have a lot in common. It's a perfect match.
We rounded out one of the last summer Saturdays with picking up J's sister SJ from the airport. She's here for a week and the kids had fun showing her EVERY thing they own and we enjoyed dinner together.
Believe me when I tell you that we all slept well last night.
