National Women's Show Ottawa

The National Women's Show was two weekends ago now. I have to say I really liked the set up this year at the Ernst and Young Center. I know moving the show from downtown probably had an effect on numbers, but I liked it.

As you walk in - a cheery welcome desk.
J's mom and I had no plan for the show so after we got our gift bags at the doors, we turned right and went up and down all the aisles. There were so many vendors and lots of things to sample. I didn't realize until later, but the vendors were grouped together: beauty, food, etc. There were different stage/seminar areas set up and we heard a bit of Dini Petty's talk on Centre Stage as we made our way around.

Dini Petty.. remember her?

The food stage.
Some of my favourite things were the Purdy's Chocolate truffle, the blueberry juice, and these fancy noodles. I also tried some chips, rice cakes, tea, and gluten-free pumpkin spice cake. Mmm!

We went by all the booths and stopped to chat with a lot of the vendors. I noticed a LOT of home sales companies like Tupperware, Scentsy, Thirty One, Stella and Dot, Younique... just to name a few. Some had really cool set ups like this jewelry one:

Neat set up!
My favourite booth, though, was Unako where I bought a beautiful infinity scarf that I'll tell you all about in another post.

Beautiful scarves from Unako.
Check out the goodies in the gift bag. It was a little like Christmas when I got home and showed the kids all my stuff. That or Halloween because we definitely ate all the chips and chocolatey things.

Overall I liked the National Women's Show a lot this year and a lot of that had to do with the venue. Like I mentioned, last year it was downtown and this year it was at the Ernst and Young Centre. It wasn't over crowded (except maybe at the Purdy's Chocolate booth waiting in line for a truffle!) and I liked the set up. Maybe next year I'll wait in line to get my nails or hair done. Did you go to the show? What did you think?
