Flipp ~ A review and giveaway!

** The giveaway is now closed. Thank you to everyone who entered. The winner has been contacted.**

Picture this: I'm an awkward tween. It's Saturday morning. We've just finished breakfast and cleared the dishes off the table. My dad hands me a paper bundle and I gleefully spread out this week's flyers. We take our time going through them, looking for the best deals, our fingers getting a bit inky.  Armed with our clipped coupons and a list of where to find the best deals, we set out for the store.

Fast-forward to today. I'm in my 30s with my own family. We get flyers delivered every Thursday and I may or may not have time to look through them. Sometimes I'll check out a few and put the Canadian Tire, Princess Auto, and home building store flyers aside for J. Sometimes I toss the whole bundle in the recycling bin.

That's right. Sometimes I feel like I don't even have time to flip through the flyers to find the best deals. It takes time, it can be messy, and are the deals even worth the hassle? Enter Flipp, a genius new app that takes all the flyers and puts them right at your fingertips. Through your phone screen you can see them all, flip through them (see what I did there?), and save the best deals. You can compare store to store and figure out where to go for the best bang for your buck. It really is a frugalista's best friend!

Back to school is the perfect time to shop around for deals. Why buy your supplies at one store when you could save a bunch of money if you bought at another? I used the Flipp app to figure out where I'd save the most money (or spend the least if we're being honest) and went there. Thankfully we didn't have much to get for kids going into senior kindergarten and preschool!

You can download this free app in Google Play and from iTunes. Here are some links but feel free to search directly if you'd rather:

Flipp in Google Play
Flipp in iTunes

Here are some more details of the app in case I haven't convinced you it's an awesome time- and money-saver!

Flip: Rapidly flip and browse between and within weekly circulars
Search: Easily search for a store, item, or brand
Clip: Clip items from any flyer straight to your shopping list by simply tapping on an item
Discount slider: Highlight items on sale to find the best deals and savings
Favorites: Save your favorite store’s flyers for easy reference and a personalized shopping experience every week
And Share and Item Details are available on the iOS version.

To sweeten the deal, Flipp is offering a $50 Visa gift card to help with back to school shopping or groceries or anything! You can enter using the form below. Giveaway is open to residents of the US and Canada and closes September 1st at midnight (EST). Good luck!

  1. Oh, this is awesome because I always buy the papers for teh coupons and either am disappointed that week, or forget about teh coupons and don't ever use them! I like the P&G ones, because they're the brands I use a lot and they have good savings.
