Wordless Wednesday and iPPP: Shiverfest

Two weekends ago was Manotick's annual Shiverfest so right after swimming lessons we hurried over to see what we could do before lunchtime. The answer? Some pretty fun things.

First we went on a sleigh ride. The kids were double happy because it was a sleigh instead of a big wagon like last time. You could tell the horses were working hard because of the extra deep snow.

Then it was time to check out the firetruck. I love how events like these almost always have a firetruck for the kids to explore. After they get over their initial shyness around the firefighters, they climb in.

Soon it was time to head home so we missed a craft activity inside and free skating in the arena (though we don't have helmets for the kids anyways).

That night J had a snowcross event (car racing on a snow track) so the kids and I met up with his mom at a pub for dinner. The kids loved being able to watch tv while we ate and did really well with the distraction. It was a really nice dinner.

Some Saturdays are really great, and this was one of them. Swimming lessons, some outside fun, and a good dinner. What more can a girl ask for?

  2. That looks so much fun! When it's super cold here, we hardly leave the house. But, there aren't any sleigh rides around either! And I adore that picture of little one with Mimi. SO SWEET.

  7. Little J's face in the firetruck is priceless. And the look between your mother in law and K, so sweet. I love seeing kids with their grandparents. Great photos!
