30 day fitness challenge

A friend of mine posted on Facebook that she had just completed a 30 day squat challenge. I was intrigued. She sent the link to 30 day fitness challenges and I was motivated enough to sign up. I chose the easy squat challenge, and the plank and pushup challenges. And when I say "sign up" I mean I wrote the exercises down in my planner and have been doing them.

Somehow it has been enough to get me to do the challenge every day. I'm on day 10 or so. The squats have been killer, especially the day of and the two days after snowboarding. I actually didn't quite make it those days in fear that I would hurt myself. I need to be able to walk up and down stairs.

The planks are getting hard and the pushups I've moved from full pushups to my knees, but I'm trucking along and hope to see some results. The site offers information and forums and lots of social media activity to help you along. I'm happy to go along by myself, or with the help of my family. Watching me, Little J now thinks that squats are hard and you need to breathe through them.

When I'm done these 30 days I think I'll move on to the regular squat challenge and maybe do the plank one again. Who knows, maybe I'll add in a differnet one too. Are you up for a challenge? We can cheer each other on. I tweet about my progress here and there using #30dayfitnesschallenge. Mostly though I just complain about how sore my legs are!
