Wordless Wednesday and iPPP: First school Christmas concert

My little man.
Little J's class had a Christmas concert today. Parents and grandparents were invited to the school to see the concert and stay for a little party afterward. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was one of the cutest things I've seen.

Little J and his classmates were led onto the stage by his teacher. All three junior kindergarten classes were there. The first little bit, while the kids got settled on stage, was full of waving.. kids looking around anxiously for their families and families waving wildly to be seen. It was pretty funny.

The kids sang the national anthem, a song in French, and a few songs in English. Some were Christmas songs but some were little ones that go along with the phonics program they're following. They are really short and have actions. I recognized them from Little J singing at home. You could tell Little J got really into the chicken dance when it sped up. He was having a great time.

My little family.
It was over in no time and we went to Little J's class where the kids were having snacks. It was a full house, a fun choatic atmosphere. Little J introduced us to his friends - the three in his group that he sits and eats with - and kept offering us food. He was so happy and proud of himself and glad to see everyone.

Party time!
I was really happy to have both my parents and J's parents able to come. They haven't seen each other for almost 10 years, since our wedding!

The room slowly cleared out and we were left with a handful of kids doing puzzles and playing games. A little after 3pm we got ready to go and went home. It was so nice seeing Little J up on stage singing his heart out, obviously comfortable in his school environment, and then spending some time with him in his class and seeing his friends. He's doing really well and that makes me happy.

  1. I'm glad you got a chance to see that! I love programs, and the littlest ones are soooo cute when they perform. And it's so much fun to hang out in their classes, too!

  2. That's so awesome. I just love little kids lined up all crooked for performances like this. :)
