Wordless Wednesday and iPPP: The bus

Just one more jump!
I thought for today's post I'd share some pictures from the bus stop. Little J is in junior kindergarten and gets bussed to school. So every day twice a day we head out to the bus stop. The kids play with the other kids waiting for the bus and make good use of the big builder sign for jumping.

Giraffe costume and no-no umbrella.
The bonus is that I get some adult conversation with a new friend while we wait.

Running home is tiring so we take frequent breaks.

Some days just getting the kids out the door on time is a miracle, so if I have to agree to costume-wearing and umbrella-toting I do. And some days we miss the bus completely and have to drive to school. I even once lost track of time and wasn't there to get Little J off the bus. I'm telling you so you won't feel bad if/when you do this too. It was fine - the bus driver took him back to school and he waited in the office. He didn't even cry.

I now have an alarm set.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I'm going to be a bit shallow here and say my skin. Specifically the fact that I'm in my 30s and still breaking out. Clear skin... is that too much to ask?

What would you change? Have you ever missed the bus?

  1. I have alarms for picking up the preschooler and watching for the bus for the big two! It's just way too easy to lose track of time. Do you just love those few minutes of waiting and walking? I do.

  2. I just went back to work after maternity leave, but for the month my son was in Kindergarten while I was still off I was always worried I'd forget to pick him up. My husband does pick-ups now, and he has an alarm set too. Whatever makes it easier!

  3. I used to get so insulted as an adolescent that my mother had to "write herself a note" to pick me up from drama practice, etc., but now that I'm a busy adult constantly on the go, I GET IT! I'm just thankful my "notes" beep reminders at me. :)

  4. Oh man, I totally have an alarm set for pick up too. And I know there'll be a day coming where I forget about it. I'm glad it's not only me!
