My Fisher-Price Favourites

I remember being pregnant with Little J and being overwhelmed while wandering through a baby store. What is all this stuff and what do we really need? Armed with the store's catalogue, we registered for this and that and just hoped we were making the good choices. I look back now and smile and wish I could have just relaxed and enjoyed the process.

What would have helped was a simple list like the one Fisher-Price has just come up with. They've put together 12 items that stand out as favourites for parents everywhere. Gear to make life easier with a baby and toys that kids really love. You could register for these 12 items and know that you've picked quality items that you're going to love.

We really loved was our jumperoo. Well, our kids did. We were gifted the Discover’n Grow Jumperoo when Little J was 3 months old which was perfect because he was just able to hold his head up. We plunked him in it and watched and giggled as he explored all the toys and learned to jump. It quickly became a fixture in our living room, the place we put Little J when we needed him happy but contained. He would jump and jump and jump!

The jumperoo stayed in our living room and when Little J was too old to play in it, he would stand beside it and play with the toys. Not much later it was Little K's turn and she too loved jumping and playing with the toys. Before she was eating food with us at the table, she played in the jumperoo while we ate.

The only downside of the jumperoo is that it's pretty big. Once both kids were too big for it, we passed it on to another family and I'm sure they've since done the same. It was such a great thing to have and entertained my kids for hours and hours.

As for the list of favourite toys, I had a hard time choosing which one to talk about, but the winner is the farm. The Little People Animal Sounds Farm was a toy I bought for Little K this past Christmas. My only regret is that we waited so long. She loves animals and it was something her brother didn't already have, but they both love playing with it. We have some Little People farm books that we read while playing with the animals.

I love that the farm helps Little K learn animal names and sounds but it also encourages her to play with them. She often lines up the animals or has them all eating. It's interesting to see the scenarios she comes up with.
