More running

I've been good at getting out to run which is good because there's less than three weeks until my 5K. Here's a recap:

Week 5 Run 2

Last Wednesday I did the second run of Week 5 on a treadmill. It was fine but do I ever prefer running outside. As I ran I counted all the floor mats and the beams in the ceiling - it was boring! The workout was a 5 minute warm up, 8 minutes of running, 5 minutes of walking, 8 minutes of running, and a 5 minute cooldown.

Week 5 Run 3

On Friday I was eating dinner and realized I hadn't run yet. Since I have to be home to put Little K to bed around 8 I left soon after eating so I would have time to run and stretch and shower. That was a mistake. The run was fine - 20 minutes straight running then a 5 minute cooldown - but my belly so sore afterwards. I managed to get through 89 pushups (using the pushups app), stretching, shower, and the kids' bedtime, before collapsing into bed and passing out at 9pm.

Week 6 Run 1

Yesterday I ran before dinner to avoid the pain of eating then running. And it worked. I did the workout - 5 minute run, 3 minute walk, 8 minute run, 3 minute walk, 5 minute run - and managed to do 100 pushups after.

I wish I could say I was feeling stronger and running faster, but after 4 runs, I feel about the same. I haven't noticed any strengthening or weight loss, but I have noticed that I'm more hungry at night. I'm trying to eat more at dinner instead of snacking more before bed.
