The kids at playgroup this morning.

Watching: We just finished Homeland and loved it!  Have you seen it?  Best show I've seen since the first two seasons of 24.  J and I had a hard time not watching a bunch of episodes every night.. hard to remember that we can't just sleep in or nap like we could before kids.

There are new episodes of all the shows I watch airing now so I have this and that to watch now... Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Modern Family, New Girl, Up All Night, The Office.  I can't wait for new So You Think You Can Dance, which is doing auditions now.

Reading: A book called Mothering your Nursing Toddler.  I can't wait to sink my teeth into a new story though.  I think mixing fiction and information books is a good way to do it, though maybe not one-for-one.  I like fiction way too much for that!

Writing: Lots of posts for the launch of the redesigned Ottawa Mommy Club site, as well as stuff for my doula business - website content and some documentation.

Looking forward to: My birthday week!  It starts Sunday with a birthday dinner with J's family.  Bring on the cake!

Not looking forward to: J being out of town all next week.  I'm excited for him though because he gets to go to New York City for the first time.

Making me smile: The way two little girls treated my kids in the play place at McDonalds this morning.  Little K is just big enough now for the play place and the girls asked me nicely if they could play with her.  They helped her through the tubes and down the slide.  Often kids get a little wild and Little K ends up getting pushed around or knocked over, but these girls really took care of her and as a result she had a great time.

Enjoying: Sharing the Disney classics with the kids.  Little K got some Disney princess puzzles for Christmas and they wanted to know who the princesses were.  We've watched Snow White, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast (Little K says "beauty an de boose"!), Aladdin and Peter Pan.

Not enjoying: The feelings that came along with sending Little J to preschool for the first time this week.  You can read all about it here.  I was hopeful it would be easy and go well but it didn't.  I just hope Little J doesn't hate preschool and dread going every week.  We've been talking a lot about being scared, and making friends, and how exciting being a big kid is.

Planning: Little K's second birthday which is next month.  I'm thinking of doing a Minnie Mouse theme and I already have her presents.  She'll be happy as long as there is icing.. the girl doesn't like cake, just icing.  Totally not like I was as a kid, really, I hated icing.

And that's my little world these days.  Exciting?  Not so much, but I'm happy to be back to normal after the holidays.  What's going on in your world?  Please share.

Dani from Sometimes Sweet is my inspiration for this post, as always.
