Why I blog

Today I received some criticism about my blog.  I'm feeling vulnerable and shaken.

Instead of letting this get me down, I'm reminding myself why I do what I do.

I blog for myself.  I blog because I love to write.  I blog to document my life.

With that in mind, I can say that I am doing just fine.  This blog will always be my personal blog, my space to write whatever I want.  I will not change who I am and what I love because of some criticism.

On that note, here are some things that came to mind today:
  • Write for yourself
  • Write what you know
  • Always be kind with your words, and
  • Nothing on the internet is unsearchable
I'm going to use this criticism as the push I need to get a little better.  I will not let my pride stop me from learning and growing.

I'm blogging for myself.  I'm blogging because I love to write.  I'm blogging to document my life.

  1. What?! What did someone say? I'm sorry someone criticized your blog. This is your place and space - and for the most part, I think you can and should be able to write what you want.

I too would be upset if someone criticized my blog. It would make me really sad.

    1. Thanks Melissa. I look at it mostly as a journal and I've used it that way so many times. It's just weird hearing bad things, you know?

  2. Hey, if that someone doesn't like your blog they don't have to read it - the best blogs have a genuine voice behind them so just keep doing what you're doing!

    1. So true. Click on through! I can't even tell you how many blogs I don't read for one reason or another. Even blogs that interest me, I'll stop reading if the spelling is horrible for example.

And blogging isn't an exact science so what one person likes another may hate. Good to remember. Thanks Sabrina.
