Currently

Me. Currently.

Surprised by: Baby K's bruise. She fell in the bathroom and hit her ear on the edge of the tub. I didn't know ears could bruise like that. It doesn't seem to be bothering her but it's quite the bruise and apparently will last longer than most bruises because of its location.

Loving: Seeing my cousin marry her best friend this weekend. She was truly glowing and obviously found a good guy.

Eating: Way too much cake these past couple of weeks. With Little J's birthday, J's birthday, the wedding.. it seems like we've had a never ending supply. Thankfully we're down to a few pieces of cake and some cupcakes. After that I'll be sticking with carrots and apples for a while. I have to make room for Thanksgiving pumpkin pie.

Anticipating: My 5K run coming up in 2 weeks. I'm looking forward to participating in a small race and having my family there to cheer me on. I'm not focused on my time, instead I've been using this race to get out running up to three times a week. I haven't even made it 5K yet, and I may not before race day. It doesn't matter.

Reading: I'm reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and Ina May's Guide to Breastfeeding. They're both required readings for my doula course in November. If you are pregnant I would recommend both. Ina May has such a gentle but matter of fact way of presenting things. She is encouraging and caring and both books are full of information helpful during pregnancy and beyond.

Enjoying: The busyness of my life lately. September is full of birthdays and, this year, races and family stuff. I feel a little lost sometimes, a little behind, but it's definitely not boring and it's nice to have everything going on before it gets too cold and the urge to hibernate gets stronger.

Hoping: I avoid the cold that seems to be hitting my family. J is feeling pretty bad and the kids are sneezing more than usual. It's the time of the year and all I can do is eat well, take my vitamins and wash my hands a lot. Oh, and sleep more, but that's tricky.

Wishing: For more sleep. Or more hours in the day so I can still enjoy my downtime after the kids go to bed. You know.
