Currently | The Life of K: Currently

I'm excited that my friend Mel has a Currently post up! She blogs all about our home town and her travels. Her recent Italy trip had me thinking back a few years to when I was there and made me want to get out and see more of the world.

Now for me, what's going on in my little world currently:

Reading: I'm reading Three Day Road, a novel about a Cree man who was sent off to war. I don't normally find the idea of war books appealing and might not have picked this one up had I known, but it's really an intriguing story all told by the main character and his aunt as stories and memories. I also have Run Like a Mother started, but I haven't read much of it yet. I was hoping it would get me off my butt and running more. I need more motivation than a book it seems.

Watching: I'm so glad that So You Think You Can Dance is back on! I love me some dancing shows. J and I have also been catching up on Modern Family and I've been watching Gossip Girl season 3 when I can.

Listening to: My cat happily purr. She's been clingy since we were out of town all weekend and is soaking up as much time in my lap as she can while the little ones sleep.

Planning: We hired a painter to come in and paint our kitchen and stairs and upstairs hallway. We picked colours and now just need to figure out a good time. Not being able to use the kitchen for a day is a bit tricky when I'm here all day every day with the kids.

Working on: I don't know if it's that it's summer or that we were away all weekend, but I'm not really working on anything. Maybe this is just a lull and things will pick up, but I'm just kind of content where things are right now, though I do still have the urge to get rid of a bunch of stuff that's just sitting around. I'm looking at you, unused baby things.

Wishing: I was naturally more active. I realize that growing up playing competitive sports may not have been the best thing for me. It didn't teach me a thing about being active for myself as I always relied on my team's schedule and knowing that they were relying on me to be there. I don't know where people find their motivation or the time to exercise regularly.

As always, this post was prompted by Sometimes Sweet. Such a nice blog to read.
