15 months

_MG_7322.CR2 (Medium)

My little girl is growing up right before my eyes. She's all over the place these days. She can climb onto our bed and the dining room chairs and the couches and she climbs the stairs without using her knees. She holds your hands while she walks down them. I've said "feet on the floor" so many times this month.

She doesn't mind getting dirty and loves the mulch around the trees out front, the sand at the park and the dirt in the garden. She loved helping build the garden box and was in the dirt with a shovel playing as soon as she could.

She wants desperately to do circle time at playgroup, something Little J absolutely hates. When I was packing them up to leave before Little J's meltdown started, she sat down beside a stranger and started clapping her hands on her legs. Poor girl might not get to stay for circle time until her brother is in school.

This month Baby K was pretty sick and had a hard time nursing and then she got a yeast rash and was in disposable diapers for a while. Hopefully that's the end of the sickness for a while.

We've been spending more time outside and it took all month for Baby K to not cry at the sight of the sunscreen and her and J had a battle over her hat. J won and now Baby K wears her hat. She hates her sandals but loves being outside. She holds our hands walking to the mailbox and is slowly learning to stay off the road.

DEVELOPMENT
Baby K's climbing skills have gotten better and she's added a few words to her vocabulary. Sometimes it sounds like she's singing a song or reading to herself.

EATING
Baby K loves fruits and veggies and carbs but not meat so much. She isn't enjoying having her food cut up and demands big chunks. She still chokes and gags from time to time but eats with gusto. She drinks water and homo milk and nurses about 4 times a day.

SPEAKING
Baby K added a few words this month: car, hat, milk, yeah, dad, ball, bubbles, go go go!, more, no, mama, hug. Some are clear and anyone could understand but some aren't so clear. Sometimes it sounds like she's saying complex things like "read a book" but I'm really not sure. She definitely understands everything we say and is talking a lot more. She'll have whole conversations with you, enthusiastically nodding her head and waiting for you to answer. She's doing great at waving and will give you a happy arm flap if you offer her a cookie.

SLEEPING
On a good day, a regular day, Baby K is up at 7am, naps from 2 to 4 or 5pm and is asleep by 8:30pm. Some days she's up earlier or later than 7. She still gets up once during the night to eat. When she was sick she had a hard time sleeping and was up a lot.

STATS
I can say for sure that Baby K is getting bigger. We had her 15-month appointment and she weighed in at 20 pounds and 31 inches long. She is wearing 12-18 and 18-24 month clothing and size 5 shoes. Her diapers are still on the same snap settings except a few are one snap looser.

ME
The warmer weather has been so nice and I just hope we can stay healthy for a while.
