Three Months

_MG_3603.CR2 (Medium)

Baby K's third month was much better than her second. She recovered from being sick and got on with things. Things like eating more and sleeping less, but I'm sure she's gained a whole bunch of weight because of it. She's smiling all the time and started giggling this past week. She's a good baby.

I started cloth diapering Baby K during the day. At night she gets disposables since I prefer to change her diaper without having to open my eyes. It's a system that's working for us.

Baby K has started giggling and is grabbing everything within reach. She is constantly sucking on her hands whether or not she's hungry. She has great head and neck control and super strong little legs. I hardly ever put her on her stomach so I'm not sure if she can roll onto her back but I know for sure she isn't rolling from her back to her stomach yet.

To make up for lost time while sick, she has been eating a lot and often. Getting healthy combined with the 3 month growth spurt really did a number on my body. I'm still recovering but she seems to have settled down a bit. She eats about every 2.5-3 hours during the day and at night will give me a 4, 5, or 6 hour stretch and then she's back to eating every 3 hours.

The poor girl cannot fall asleep on her own so naps during the day are proving tricky with Little J at home. She gets little cat naps here and there but sleeps like a log when it's Little J's nap time. Then at night she'll sleep for a chunk at first (around 9pm - 2am) and then wake every 3 hours until she's up for the day around 7am. She sleeps in the pack&play in our room at night.

Baby K won't see the doctor for another month at least so I have no idea what she weighs other than a feeling that she's gained a bunch of weight and comments from people saying she looks and feels heavier. She's filling out her sleepers more. She's still wearing size 1-2 diapers or small cloth diapers and 0-3 month clothing.

I'm still rocking life with not enough sleep so I can be grumpy and my memory is horrible. I think about exercising but choose instead to nap or do laundry. After the initial shock I'm adapting to having both Baby K and Little J home during the day. Soon we'll figure out a routine that works for us, one that allows Baby K some naps other than when Little J is napping. Though family naps are pretty awesome.
