This baby is already spoiled (aka why my family and friends rock!)

One of the perks of having two babies close together is that you have all the stuff. You haven't had time to throw it out or pass it on, it's all still good. That's our situation at least - and if this new baby was a boy we would have been even more ready with all the blue clothes. That said, there's absolutely nothing wrong with baby girls wearing blue and baby boys wearing pink, but there's something to be said for some gender-specific clothing, especially when the baby is bald.

Now I don't know that Baby #2 will be bald. I was extremely surprised when Baby J had hair and so it won't be so shocking if this one does too, but like I said, some pink on a girl baby is nice. And that's where my friends and family come in.

A few months ago, a coworker of mine, who recently had her second (and last) daughter, dropped by with a bag of super small clothing that her girls have grown out of. With that alone, this baby had enough. But then my coworkers had a little going-away party for me and I got two super cute outfits for the baby, both pink and frilly. And then my best gals and family had a brunch shower for me and literally overwhelmed me with their generosity. This is going to be the best dressed little girl! I have never had so much pink in my house though I'm going to have to get used to it, especially if she turns out to be a girly girl.

I wasn't, and still am not very girly, and though I'll wear pink and purple neither is my colour of choice. But a little part of me is so happy being surrounded by pink. I'm excited to have a little girl, but scared too. Before Baby J I had never really been around babies so I didn't know what to do with either sex. Now I'm familiar with having a boy, but a girl is entirely different. Like I said, hopefully she's not too girly.

Everyone has been so generous especially considering this is our second baby and that is why I have amazing friends and family.

  1. I was so excited to have pink everywhere, and still love it! I was and still am a girlie girl though.

  2. I truly don't mind the pink everywhere.. it's the girl things that I'm not looking forward to. I'm hoping the little miss likes trucks!
