That week flew by

It's nice to be able to say that this past week flew by because next week is my last week of work!

I stayed home Monday with J and enjoyed a nice sleep in, breakfast with him and then a relaxing day. Tuesday - Thursday were regular work days. I've been so tired and Baby J hasn't been sleeping all that well (J will deal with it until he goes to bed and then it's up to me - not a bad system) so maybe that's why a lot of the week is a blur.

Thursday I went out for lunch with my coworkers and when I got back to my desk I had a message from our day care provider saying that Baby J was sick and could I please come get him. I called but by then he was napping. I had a chance to talk to my boss and get my maternity leave paperwork signed before leaving a little early to collect Mr. Sickie.

I almost think the day care provider had the worst of it because Baby J was a little "not himself" but not the sick baby I thought he would be after her description of his day. I stayed home with him Friday and only had to deal with a random puke (curdled milk right into the heat vent in the hottest room in our house - needless to say, it stunk!) and some extra cuddles.

Baby J has started to nod his head and say yes, not just a definitive NO! to everything we ask. Whenever he saw a picture of J he would say DADA over and over and right before J got home, he kept looking out the window and saying DADA (Thursday we saw J get home and waved from that window). I asked him if he missed his dad... nodding and YEAH! I asked him if he missed me during the day... NO! Grrrr... he's getting it, but not quite yet I would say.

So that was my week. Last night was the best in the past while where we all went to bed early and Baby J slept right through. J took him out this morning and got groceries to fill up our embarrassingly empty fridge and cupboards and now I'm catching up on my email and blogs while J is at the gym and Baby J sleeps.

This is birthday weekend (yay me!) so we're having dinner tonight with J's family, my parents are coming over tomorrow and we're having dinner with friends tomorrow night. My main hope for my actual birthday, Monday, is to not get puked on (my birthday last year was not stellar). Is that too much to ask?
