So far so good

With about half the day done, my hopes for my birthday are coming true: I have not yet been puked on. I'm guessing I can make it the entire day, even though the second half I spend more time with Baby J (last year's culprit), since I haven't heard from the day care provider saying he's sick. Surely she would call if he puked even once.

I've decided that I'm extremely hard to buy for and I blame my son and my ever-expanding belly. I have no problem coming up with ideas for Baby J or Baby #2, but thinking of things that I want is just impossible, especially so soon after Christmas.

So far I have received cash and a gift card, a box of jelly beans, money for a spa and some flowers. Oh, and some cake decorating tools which are fun and completely out of nowhere. Anyways, do you see what I mean?

This prompted some reflection and I realized that I don't have many hobbies, I'm very pregnant, and I hardly even spend money on myself. How can I expect to be easy to shop for with all that going for me? But birthdays aren't about the presents and I'm grateful to have not cooked dinner once this past weekend and I got to see all sorts of family and friends. I had too many cupcakes and even got to blow out some candles.

With that, I am saying goodbye to my 20s and hello to my 30s. I hope to accomplish great things this decade.

  1. I like to call them the dirty thirties and I'll see you there in April.

What are the chances you might want to bundle up baby #2 and pop up my way this summer? Or fall? Collect aeroplan, yo. We will have dirty thirties together and just think, we get a whole decade of them! SO much planning to do!
