Halloween | The Life of K: Halloween

I don't think I mentioned it but this year I was really looking forward to Halloween. I really wanted to get Baby J an elaborate costume and dress him up and take him places. I shop in one store - the grocery store - and while Joe Fresh is great for kid's clothes, the costumes were lacking. Instead of going to another store, I thought long and hard about what I could make for Baby J.

While unpacking a box of hand-me-down clothes from Baby R, I came across a pair of overalls and landed on Super Mario! J temporarily crushed that idea by telling me that Mario's overalls were red, but some frantic googling proved him wrong and Operation: Mario Costume was launched.

I did end up in a store other than the grocery store. I needed a red hat and some felt to go with the costume. I went on my lunch break and relished the time away from my desk.

Everything came together nicely and Baby J was a great Mario.

He dressed up for daycare Friday and for a party Saturday and finally for Halloween Sunday evening. We took him outside, but because of the snow and the fact that it was freezing, we went back inside shortly after. We did get to see the neighbour's kids - twin tigers and a little strawberry and Baby J got to walk in the snow for the first time.

A little after 7pm, it was time for Baby J to go to bed so we turned off all the lights and retreated to the basement with our bowl of chocolate bars that we didn't give out. I would consider that a success.
