Real snow and winter activities

Yesterday it snowed and it snowed and it snowed. It wasn't the first time it snowed this year, but the first time it snowed so much and stayed. J was all excited to get home and use the snowblower for the first time and that's exactly what he did.

Baby J and I ventured out to check the mail - we have one of those super boxes down the street. We haven't figured out what to do about a snowsuit for Baby J yet so it was a test to see how warm he would be in a fleece sleeper and covered in a blanket. He seemed fine, though he might need a thicker hat.

My Salsa class was cancelled yesterday because of the snow and I have to admit I'm glad I didn't have to go out in the storm. People always forget over the summer how to drive in the snow and I'm sure there were tons of accidents yesterday. Staying home, warm and cozy inside was nice.

Salsa class is almost done for this session. I signed up for the next session in January and February and also signed up for Zumba classes, which is aerobics with latin dance moves. That's just for me and should be interesting. Kindermusik classes for me and the baby also start next month. I'm holding off on registering for swimming until we've had more baths and gotten the kid used to being in the water. The key, it seems, is to be in the tub with him. Bathing a squirming baby is much easier when you're in the tub too.

So with Salsa Babies and Kindermusik and Zumba classes, I should be able to avoid the winter blahs and get out of the house often. That's the plan at least, even if it snows and snows and snows.

  1. Yeah and baseon on these activity names, you might subconsciously pick up another language too, eh? heh.

We need new snow around here, but we had freezing fog so everything is covered in hoar frost and it looks like we live in a snow globe. An unshaken snowglobe, if I'm being specific. Which I am.

Also, I selfishly hope that if you find a snowsuit or equivalent for you little one that it has ears on the hood. That is awesome at any age and you might as well start him out early!

  2. A snowsuit with ears on the hood would be so amazinly cute! I agree.

Also cute are these hats that look like fruit that you can find on Etsy. Your comments won't let me copy and paste but one seller I found was called mymarketstall

Zumba is fun! They have it at my gym. I tried it once but I'm really uncoordinated, so I didn't go again. But I did like it! I'm sure you will too.

We got a huge load of snow last night and it was my first time shoveling the driveway. Ahhhh, southern Ontario... ;)

  3. Wow! You'll be busy and in great shape!
Zumba is fun. Dancing is always preferable to lifting weights or running on a treadmill. Or at least for me anyways!
